“until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” Carl Jung

Lea has been providing psychotherapy services since 2013. She specializes in working with teens, young adults, and adults. That are experiencing all of life’s challenges. Which could include but are not limited to anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, acute/complex trauma (including generational, systemic, and historical), mild to serve depression, attachment or abandonment challenges, and frustrated with where your life has taken you. Lea’s spiritual quest guided her to become a certified yoga teacher in 2016. She is passionate about holistic healing and believes that within a safe environment 'bottom-up' approaches can be a beneficial supplement to traditional talk therapy. Our bodies hold so much wisdom and can teach us so much.  Sometimes our issues can get stuck in our tissues.

Lea consistently provides an unconditional positive regard, warmth, and authenticity within the therapeutic relationship. She believes that in order for organic and long term healing to take place, a strong therapeutic alliance needs to form and be assessed over the course of treatment. Her framework is culturally humble, trauma-informed, and mindfulness-based. One of Lea’s core beliefs is that change is only effective if there is a level of autonomy and self-empowerment. You are the expert of yourself and your life. Lea attended the University of Kansas for undergrad and then National University for graduate school. She began her clinical training with a play therapy and trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral lens then added on with solution focused, narrative approach with elements of internal family systems, attachment-based, somatic body movement, mindfulness-based treatment, acceptance commitment therapy and brain spotting. Lea is looking forward to meeting you on your path towards healing and wellness.

Mindfulness

“Is the quality or state of being conscious or aware of something.”

Mindfulness is being aware of internal thoughts, feelings, and emotions, as well as external surroundings and situations, without automatic responses such as judgment or stress. Mindfulness therapy is a type of talk therapy that focuses on learning how to be more aware and to reduce automatic responses.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting therapy is a type of alternative therapy that uses spots in a person’s visual field to help them process trauma. It accesses trauma trapped in the subcortical brain, the area of the brain responsible for motion, consciousness, emotions, and learning.

Psychedelic Integration

Psychedelic means mind-manifesting. Psychedelic integration is a process in which the person integrates the insights of their experience into their life. Psychotherapy sessions that occur after a psychedelic experience and are intended to work with that experience are often called integration sessions; however, the integration process is grounded and reflected in what occurs before, during, and outside of the sessions.
